IMPORTANT NOTICE
In view of exceptional circumstances ICGEB has
decided that those candidates who have cleared DBT-JRF of 2012 (results
announced on May 10, 2012) are allowed to
apply for PhD admission.
They need to fill the online form till May 20, 2012. The candidate must reach ICGEB
before 0900 hrs on May
22, 2012 with following;

1. Print copy of the online acknowledgement
2. Print copy of the admit card
3. Demand draft Rs 300 in
favor of "ICGEB, New Delhi"
3. Two passport size color photographs
4. One self-addressed envelope
affixed with Rs 5 postal stamp.
OLD DETAIL NOTICE:
Applications are invited from
candidates for admission to the Ph.D. Program (2012-2013) of ICGEB in two
streams: Plant Biology and Human Health.

Minimum qualification:
(A)
M.Sc. in
any branch of Science (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics etc) or M.Tech. or M.B.B.S. or M.V.Sc. or M.Pharm. or equivalent
qualification recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, is
required. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination this year may
also apply; they will be admitted provisionally pending satisfactory fulfilment
of the above requirements at the time of joining.
(B)
The applicant should have cleared
any one of following: CSIR-UGC, ICMR, DBT, DST-INSPIRE or any other equivalent
JRF examination and fellowships
must be valid for at least four years.
Application procedure:
(A)
Applications MUST
be filled online (visit website www.icgeb.res.in/phd2012).
(B)
Print the
online receipt and the admit card, generated after the successful online
submission. Paste duly signed recent passport size photographs (4.5 cms x 3 cms) on the online
receipt and admit card.
(C)
Send the signed hard copy of the online receipt and
admit card and along with
(i)
a crossed Demand Draft of Rs
300/- (non-refundable), in favour of ÒICGEB, New DelhiÓ, payable at New Delhi.
(ii)
Two self addressed
envelopes (10 cms x 22 cms)
affixed with Rs 5/- postage stamp and
(iii) documentary evidence for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), if applicable
to The Chief of Administration, ICGEB,

(D)
Shyama
Prasad Mukherjee (SPM) fellows are
exempted from the written exam but should nonetheless apply along with other
candidates in the above-mentioned manner.
(E)
Students will not be allowed to change the stream.
Short-listed candidates will be called for a written
exam on 22nd May followed by an interview on 23rd -24th
May, 2012.
