Database Description

Protein and genomic sequences

Recent Developments

Since the last issue was in 2000, there are quite a number of new developments. The database contains a complete section of genomes annotated by the PEDANT system, the well established CYGD database, the highly cited functional catalogue, the HIB database of human EST clusters and our contribution to the PIR-International Protein Sequence database. Since our NAR 2000 paper is highly cited due to the reference to the MIPS functional classification, we think that its presentation in the database issue is worthwhile.
