GOBASE is a relational database integrating sequence, secondary structure, and biochemical and taxonomic information about organelles. GOBASE release 6 (Summer 2002) contains approximately 130,000 mitochondrial sequences of which 21 are complete genomes, and 30,000 chloroplast sequences including 21 complete genomes. GOBASE is produced by the Organelle Genome Megasequencing Program at the University of Montreal.
